History

Celebrating over 30 years of banking success, Woodforest strives to make our customers' banking experience simple and convenient.  We're committed to our motto of "Banking your way...EVERY DAY AND NIGHT!" by offering responsive products, quality customer service, and branches open "around the clock" in select markets.
 

• In 1980, Woodforest National Bank opened its first branch in the Houston, Texas market.
• In 1996, we opened our first in-store branch, offering customers the conveniences of seven-day-a-week full service banking with extended hours.
• In 1999, Woodforest took "banking convenience" a step further and opened the first of five "around the clock" branches open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in select markets.
• On October 27, 2004 Woodforest National Bank opened its 100th branch.
• On September 5, 2005 Woodforest National Bank celebrated its 25th anniversary.
• On September 5, 2005 the Woodforest Charitable Foundation was created by Woodforest National Bank as a direct result of its desire to support and invest in the communities in which it serves.
• On May 17, 2006 Woodforest National Bank opened its 200th branch.
• On March 7, 2008 Woodforest National Bank opened its 500th branch.
• On September 5, 2010 Woodforest National Bank celebrated its 30th anniversary.
