Woodforest Supports Hill CDC’s First Cohort Aimed at Product-Based Businesses

The Woodlands, TX (January 22, 2018) – Woodforest National Bank, in collaboration with the State of Pennsylvania and Paramount Co-Op, is supporting Hill CDC’s Do It Now: BizU with Paramount Co-Op. This is the first cohort program by Hill CDC aimed at establishing and accelerating product-based businesses. The 12-week program, running through April 2018, consists of weekly 2-hour classes on an array of topics including marketing, financing and goal setting.

“Supporting cohorts and programs like those provided by Hill CDC are critical to the growth and sustainability of small businesses in Pittsburgh and across the country,” said Doug Schaeffer, CRA Executive Director, EVP, Woodforest National Bank. He continued, “We are proud to partner with the Hill CDC to provide programming that helps spur economic growth and increase jobs in the Hill District.”

Woodforest is funding the facilitator costs for the Do It Now program, and Woodforest bankers volunteer their time to facilitate cohort classes. Additionally, in 2017, Woodforest sponsored, in part, Hill CDC’s BLAST program and Pitch Party that championed entrepreneurs who were seeking funding to start new small businesses.
